(Dallas, Texas – April 4, 2007) The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $433,700 to the Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authority (NACA) to design regional wastewater treatment facilities for cities in the Osage Basin. The project will provide centralized sewage treatment to communities and unincorporated areas experiencing substantial growth. Several cities in Northwest Arkansas do not have public sewer systems. The purpose of the grant is to help eliminate the health hazards caused by individual septic tank systems that currently serve these cities.
