The Green Hunt: An Early Halloween Treat for DC Science Buffs

(10/17/08) As Halloween approaches at the end of the month, Washingtonians and D.C. visitors are in for a treat this Saturday with the first annual eco-scavenger hunt called "The Green Hunt." Organized by the Marian Koshland Science Museum, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will help staff the event in Washington, D.C.'s Penn Quarter. The Green Hunt will challenge participants to find out how much science is in the city with puzzles and questions. Free to the public, the event honors Earth Science Week 2008 and is designed to inform people about climate and earth science, and show that urban environments provide great learning opportunities for outdoor science activities. The fun begins at 11 a.m. and runs until the clue and puzzle answers are submitted at 5 p.m.
