The Vance Tank Road Battery Site is located at 1896 and 1912 Vance Tank Road in Bristol, Tennessee. The site was operated as a battery cracking business from 1948 until 1959. Batteries were collected from businesses in the region and brought to the site where they were cracked open for the lead. The lead from the batteries was sold to a scrap metal facility. The debris from the battery cracking operation was disposed of at the scrap metal facility and on site.
