U.S. EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will address the Physicians for Social Responsibility National Conference on two Clinton Administration priorities -- protecting children from environmental health risks and tackling the challenge of global warming -- at the Crystal City Marriot in Arlington, Va. on Saturday May 2, at 9:15 a.m. Browner will discuss Clinton Administration efforts to reduce risks to children, including expanding parents’ right-to-know about toxics released in their communities, and requiring every federal agency to ensure that its programs and regulations address children’s unique susceptibilities to environmental health threats. Browner will also detail President Clinton’s plan to meet the challenge of global warming, including committing $6.3 billion over five years to spur energy efficiency and develop clean energy technologies to reduce the pollution that causes global warming.
