PHILADELPHIA - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announces the opening of a community information office at the Tranguch Gasoline Site. The office is located at the former Tranguch Tire Service building at the intersection of Church Street and Route 940 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
EPA officials and health officials are available upon request to answer questions regarding site activities. EPA community relations contractors are on hand to explain site maps, fact sheets, and sampling data. The Tranguch Gasoline Site file is also available at the office for residents to review.
Copies of documents within the site file will be made upon written request.
The community information office is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Residents are encouraged to call (570) 455-9007 or (570) 453-0981 with questions.
Tranguch Gasoline Site is the result of an underground gasoline spill in Hazleton. The boundaries of the site area are north by Black Creek, south by 17th Street, east by Hayes Street, and west by Church Street and Route 940.
