Tina Kreisher joins EPA as the new Associate Administrator for Communications, Education and Media Relations. Kreisher most recently served as the Communications Director to the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee from June 1998 to the present where she handled all press inquiries, wrote press releases and op-ed pieces for the Chairman. She was Deputy Director of Gov. Whitman’s Washington Office from 1994 to 1998 where she worked with Congress on issues of legislative importance to the State of New Jersey and to the Governor. Kreisher has extensive experience in working with the news media as Press Secretary and spokesperson for Reps. Barbara Vucanovich, and Bill Lowery. In addition, Kreisher was also the Special Assistant to the Public Liaison Director at the United States Information Agency as the senior writer/editor, writing op-ed pieces, speeches and presentations. As a veteran reporter, Kreisher worked for several newspapers including: The San Diego Union as a general assignment reporter; The Sacramento Bee as the Special Sections Editor and the regional reporter in Washington for The Sacramento Union covering the California Congressional delegation on issues such as the Supreme Court and federal agencies pertaining to Sacramento. Kreisher received a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, is married and has three grown children.
