Grand Junction earns EPA Clean Water Act award

City wastewater treatment plant to receive recognition.
Denver, Colo., Sept. 13, 2007 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will present a wastewater management award to the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Plant in Grand Junction on Sept. 17.
EPA Region 8 Assistant Administrator Steve Tuber said, “This EPA award recognizes innovative processes and practices at wastewater treatment facilities. Well-managed facilities such as this one help ensure a clean environment and protect the public’s health.”
At 11:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Plant in Grand Junction, CO, EPA officials will present a Regional First Place Award for outstanding and innovative achievements through operations and maintenance at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility. During the past year the facility demonstrated outstanding septage and grease disposal practices. The award will be presented to Grand Junction Mayor Jim Doody.
