U.S. DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR FRED HANSEN WILL SPEAK TO 6TH GRADE STUDENTS IN WOODBRIDGE, VA., ON KICK BUTTS DAY 1998

U.S. EPA Deputy Administrator Fred Hansen will address sixth grade students at a Kick Butts Day 1998 event at Woodbridge Middle School in Woodbridge, Va., at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 2. Hansen will discuss the significant damage to children’s health caused by smoking cigarettes and by inhaling second-hand smoke. Hansen will detail the Clinton Administration’s actions to curb cigarette smoking among children and reduce their exposure to second-hand smoke. Hansen and other Clinton Administration officials are joining parents, teachers, and federal, state, and local government representatives at Kick Butts Day 1998 events nationwide to educate students on the dangers of smoking and help reduce juvenile tobacco use.
