EPA Awards Over $324,000 to the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma for Management Assistance Activities at the Tar Creek Superfund Site

(Dallas, Texas – April 7, 2010) The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded $324,840 to the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. The Tribe will use the funds to provide management assistance activities at the Tar Creek Superfund site in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. These activities include reviewing and commenting on technical reports, attending technical and public meetings, and ensuring that cleanup activities are completed in accordance with applicable laws. Additional activities include remedial investigations, feasibility studies, human health and ecological risk assessments, records of decision, remedial design, and five year reviews.
