EPA Awards Over $200,000 to the Wyandotte Nation to Develop and Manage Environmental Programs

(Dallas, Texas – November 21, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $220,000 to Wyandotte Nation to develop and manage environmental programs to protect and improve the environment and public health of the tribe. The funds were granted under the General Assistance Program which supports the development of core tribal environmental protection programs. The tribe will use the funds to maintain its environmental office, conduct community outreach, oversee water supply activities, and continue its solid waste program.
