EPA "SCIENCE TO ACHIEVE RESULTS" PROGRAM SOLICITS 1997 FELLOWSHIP APPLICATIONS
EPA is soliciting applications for the Agency's 1997 Science to Achieve Results (STAR) fellowship program, and will award 50-100 graduate fellowships for masters and doctorate level students in environmentally-related fields of study. The STAR program also includes grants and research centers. The purpose of the STAR fellowship program is to defray the cost of environmental and science management education and encourage leadership in the nation's environmental science, research, education, assessment, restoration and preservation efforts. In addition to a $17,000 stipend, up to $5,000 in expense money and $12,000 for tuition and academic fees will be awarded to each fellowship recipient. The deadline for application is Jan. 3, 1997. For more information or to request a paper copy of the fellowship material, call the National Center for Environmental Research and Quality Assurance Help Line at 1-800-490-9194. STAR fellowship information is also available electronically at https://www.epa.gov/ncerqa.
