TODAY: EPA Administrator in Philadelphia for Drexel Food Recovery Event and Wharton Energy Conference Keynote

PHILADELPHIA- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy is visiting Philadelphia, Penn. today to participate in a food recovery event to highlight the need to reduce wasted food in landfills, which not only protects the environment but also feeds the hungry. Administrator McCarthy will be joined by Drexel University culinary students and the Center for Hospitality and Sport Management; Brown’s ShopRite, and My Brother’s House, the foodbank where a prepared meal will be donated. Administrator McCarthy will recognize Drexel University’s innovative food recovery program, a pilot program facilitated by the EPA, that partners with Brown’s ShopRite in West Philadelphia.
Administrator McCarthy will then give keynote remarks at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business 2014 Energy Conference, where she will discuss the importance of responsibly developing resources to promote a clean energy economy.
