DALLAS – (June 11, 2014) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $591,247 to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). The funds will be used to administer the state’s air monitoring network for fine particulate matter (PM) which aims to identify precursor pollutants and eliminate air pollution. The funds will also be used to administer the state’s PM 2.5 data analyses.
ADEQ will also monitor for major pollutants, identifying major and minor sources of air pollution that may be impacting Arkansas. This will help Arkansas residents live healthier and breathe more easily.
