Two Area Federal Agencies to Receive New Hybrid Vehicles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Kansas City, Kan., June 22, 2007) – Two Kansas City area federal administrators will accept new Saturn hybrid vehicles on behalf of their agency fleets during a presentation Monday, June 25, by the General Services Administration (GSA).
Regional offices receiving the vehicles are the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in Kansas City, Mo., and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Kansas City, Kan. President Bush has directed federal agencies with more than 20 vehicles to reduce petroleum consumption by 2 percent each year and increase alternative fuel use by 10 percent. GSA’s fleet management division has delivered 3,581 bi-fuel and 20 biodiesel vehicles to regional federal agencies.
