EPA ANNOUNCES NEW BROWNFIELDS GRANT IN MILWAUKEE
EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will announce a new Brownfields redevelopment grant in Milwaukee, Wis., on Friday,
Feb. 14. She will be joined by Mayor John Norquist and County Executive Tom Ament. Brownfields are abandoned pieces of
land-- usually in inner city areas -- that are lightly contaminated from previous industrial use. EPA's brownfields grants help
cities to clean up and redevelop these sites so they can be returned to productive community use.
