EPA to Hold Public Meeting Regarding Oliver Springs Oil Well Fire in Oliver Springs, TN

(Atlanta, Ga. – April 4, 2008) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public meeting Friday, April 4, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. regarding the status of the Oliver Springs Oil Well Fire and resulting environmental assessment in Oliver Springs, Tenn. EPA, state and local officials will provide information and answer questions about the status of the oil well and environmental assessment in progress.
The public meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Cove Road Primitive Baptist Church on Cove Road in Oliver Springs. Persons interested in obtaining additional information are encouraged to contact Sherryl A. Carbonaro, EPA Community Involvement Coordinator, at (678) 575-7355.
The Oliver Springs Oil Well Fire took place on Cove Road in Oliver Springs, Anderson County, Tenn. in a residential area. The fire was extinguished on March 25, 2008.
