CHICAGO (Apr. 21, 2006) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will celebrate Earth Day by participating in several events in the Chicago area this weekend:
Saturday, April 22 - Humboldt Park Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration, 1359 N. Sacramento Blvd., Chicago (near Humboldt Park boathouse), 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. EPA will bring its fuel-efficient vehicles and vehicles used to respond to environmental emergencies, give away educational materials and answer questions from the public.
Sunday, April 23 - Fullersburg Woods, 3609 Spring Road, Oak Brook, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EPA will give away educational materials and pens and pencils made from recycled materials at this popular family event.
Monday, April 24 - EPA staff will speak to the students at Illinois' first "green" elementary school, Tarkington School of Excellence, 3330 W. 71st St., Chicago.
