U.S. EPA to host informational public meeting (Kettleman City)
WHO: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will host a public meeting Wednesday, February 4, in Kettleman City, Calif., to provide an update to the surrounding community regarding the current status of the Chemical Waste Management, Inc. polychlorinated biphenyls permit renewal application. The meeting will be conducted in English, with simultaneous Spanish interpretation.
WHAT: Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) permit process update; Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) congener sampling plan overview; Q & A session.

BACKGROUND: On February 20, 2007, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed a draft coordinated approval permit that would allow the Chemical Waste Management Kettleman Hills Facility to continue to store and dispose of polychlorinated biphenyl waste.
