WHITMAN TO ANNOUNCE FIRST WATER SECURITY GRANTS

EPA Administrator Christie Whitman on Friday will visit Rocky Gorge Reservoir near Laurel, Md., where she will announce the first round of water security grants, part of $53 million available to help large drinking water utilities across the nation assess their vulnerability to terrorist attacks. Utilities can receive up to $115,000 under the grant program. The first seven grants will be announced tomorrow.

From Rt. I-95 take exit 33 to Westbound Route 198 (Sandy Spring Road) toward Burtonsville;
At the second traffic light, take a right turn onto Bond Mill Road;
Follow Bond Mill Road until it ends at Brooklyn Bridge Road;
Take a right turn onto Brooklyn Bridge Road and take the immediate left turn onto Supplee Road;
Follow Supplee Road to its end at the Rocky Gorge Reservoir.
