Brockton, Mass. Wastewater Treatment Plant Contract Administrator Recognized for Outstanding Service

(Boston, Mass. – Feb. 1, 2011) – David Norton, the Contract Administrator for the Brockton, Mass. Wastewater Treatment Plant, was recently honored with the "2010 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Award" by EPA.
The EPA award program recognizes municipal personnel in the wastewater field who have provided invaluable public service operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities throughout New England. Mr. Norton has been associated with the City of Brockton’s wastewater treatment facility for nearly 25 years and has been instrumental in overseeing the facility’s recent successful upgrades. He has been a dedicated professional protecting the water quality and public health.
“The professionals managing and operating wastewater treatment plants play a crucial role in protecting public health by ensuring that our lakes and rivers are protected from unnecessary pollution,” said Curt Spalding, regional administrator for EPA's New England Office. "I am proud to acknowledge Mr. Norton’s outstanding contributions to help protect public health and Massachusetts’ waterways for so many years.
EPA’s New England office formally acknowledged Mr. Norton’s contributions during the annual New England Water Environment Association Conference at the Boston Copley Marriott Hotel on January 26th. Mr. Norton was nominated by the Massachusetts Dept. of Environmental Protection.
