CHICAGO (Sept. 13, 2005) —
WHAT: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will launch a new partnership with Natural Resources Canada in a joint effort to reduce emissions and fuel use from freight transportation. The agencies will sign a memorandum of understanding to engage the international freight industry in undertaking voluntary actions to save fuel and reduce carbon dioxide.
WHO: Suzanne Rudzinski, Director, Transportation and Regional Programs Division, EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality; Anthony Taylor, Director, Transportation Energy Use Division, Natural Resources Canada; and freight industry representatives.
