WEDNESDAY: EPA and State of Georgia to Recognize $8.5 Million Recovery Act Wastewater Infrastructure Project in Lula, GA

(ATLANTA – Feb. 16, 2010) On the year anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will join the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) to recognize an $8.5 million project funded through the ARRA in Lula, Ga. The wastewater infrastructure project is helping create green jobs, boost the local economy, improve aging water infrastructure and protect human health and the environment.
President Obama signed the ARRA on Feb. 17, 2009, and has directed that the Recovery Act be implemented with unprecedented transparency and accountability. To that end, the American people can see how every dollar is being invested at Recovery.gov.
