EPA Dismisses Complaint Against Naval Lab in D.C. Regarding Underground Storage Tank
Release Date: 7/1/1999
Contact Information: Ruth Podems, (215) 814-5540
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced that it has dismissed its complaint against the U.S. Navy for alleged underground storage tank violations at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C.
EPA’s complaint cited the Navy’s alleged failure to provide required release detection monitoring records of its underground storage tank to an EPA inspector. Keeping these records shows that the Navy is monitoring its underground tanks for leaks.
EPA and the Navy agreed to a "joint stipulation of dismissal" after the Navy produced the required records following the issuance of the complaint.
