“Toward Wildlife-Friendly Windpower” Conference in Toledo June 27-29

Chicago, Ill.—June 13, 2006) — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Great Lakes National Program Office, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey and the Illinois Natural History Survey are sponsoring a conference in Toledo, Ohio, June 27 to 29 to discuss ways to minimize wind-power effects on wildlife and to develop consistent wind energy management approaches within the Great Lakes basin.
The three-day session will be held at the Dana Conference Center at the Medical University of Ohio, 3110 Glendale Avenue, Toledo. Detailed information about the conference, including agenda and speakers, can be found at www.fws.gov/midwest/greatlakes/windpower.htm
