WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented its prestigious Partnership Award to the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council for partnering with EPA on organizing the tenth Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention conference in Washington, D.C. from Sept 20-23.
EPA’s mid-Atlantic region presents the partnership awards to companies, organizations or individuals who demonstrate exceptional creativity or innovation in state or local chemical emergency preparedness.
This was the third year that the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council has played a critical role in securing funding, manning exhibit booths, assisting with planning and providing speakers for the conference. This year’s conference attracted more than 1,100 emergency and rescue personnel from throughout the country.
This year, the council specifically arranged a special briefing on EPA’s chemical safety audit program for representatives from more than 15 different businesses.
