EPA, CT DEP and Marine Industry To Announce Initiative For Reducing Motorboat Pollution in Connecticut

BOSTON – On Tuesday, June 4, at 1:00 PM the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, and three marine trade associations will be announcing a major initiative to reduce pollution from motorboats in Connecticut.
The announcement will be made at a press conference at the Milford Boat Works in Milford, Conn.
Speakers will include:
- Robert W. Varney, regional administrator for EPA's New England Office;
- Arthur J. Rocque, Jr., commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection
- Grant W. Westerson, executive director, Connecticut Marine Trades Association
- John McKnight, director of environmental and safety compliance, National Marine Manufacturers Association
- John P. Keeter, president, Marine Retailers Association of America
DIRECTIONS TO MILFORD BOAT WORKS
Route 95 from the West or South going North:
Route 95 North to Exit #37, High Street
At end of ramp, bear right onto High Street
Go straight through lights and continue straight 1+ mile to MBW
Route 95 from East or North going South:
Route 95 South to Exit #36, Plains Road
At the end of ramp, take left and go over 95 bridge and left back onto 95
Get off at Exit #37 and bear right at end of ramp
Go straight through lights and continue straight 1+ mile to MBW
Route 15 Wilbur Cross Parkway from either direction:
Route 15 to Exit #54
Follow the connector to exit Route 1 South
Turn right onto Route 1 Boston Post Road
Go up traffic light (Seven-Eleven on left) and turn left onto High Street
Continue straight 1 mile to MBW
