EPA, RI DEM and Marine Industry Associations To Announce Initiative for Cleaner Small Boat Engines

WARWICK, R.I. – On Tuesday, February 19, at 10:00 AM the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's New England Office, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and the Marine Retailers Association of America will be announcing an initiative for cleaner small boat engines in Rhode Island.

The announcement will be made at a press conference at the Brewer Yacht Yard in Warwick, R.I.

Speakers will include:

• Robert W. Varney, Regional Administrator for EPA's New England Office;
• Ken Kubic, President, Rhode Island Marine Trade Association;
• Jan Reitsma, Director, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management;
• Larry Innis, Marine Retailers Association of America; and
• Mick Blackistone, National Marine Manufacturers Association

Directions to Brewer Yacht Yard
From the north or south, take I-95 to exit 10 (route 117)
At bottom of ramp, take a right onto 117 East
Follow 117 East to third light (1 mile) Route 1
Turn right (south) onto Route 1/Post Road.
Follow Route 1 for 1 mile to third light.
Turn left at light into Masthead Drive
Down hill, under bridge.
Turn right at bottom of hill into Yard.
The Press Conference will be in the restaurant area of the Yacht Club
