BOSTON -- The EPA's New England Environmental Assistance Team, or NEEATeam, is offering a free manual that provides printers in New England with easy-to-read information on environmental compliance requirements and pollution prevention opportunities.
"Fit to Print: An Environmental Compliance and Pollution Prevention Manual for New England Lithographers" gives printers basic, essential information on the most significant federal and state environmental compliance requirements, and lists environmental assistance resources for New England's printers. The manual uses illustrations, charts, and checklists in helping printers develop corporate environmental strategies, improve business operations (like quality control), and enhance functional operations such as production scheduling. Many of the innovations recommended involve no-cost or low-cost best management practices.
"'Fit to Print' is a must-read for printers -- no matter how large or small -- who have struggled for years to decipher thousands of pages of environmental regulations," said John P. DeVillars, administrator of the EPA's New England office. "We have folded reams of environmental statutes, directives and regulations into 92 pages of easily digestible, highly informative material that will help the printing industry go green while staying in the black."
