EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson to Tour New EPA Ocean Survey Vessel in Tampa, Florida

(ATLANTA – October 19, 2006) Stephen L. Johnson, EPA Administrator, will tour EPA’s Ocean Survey Vessel, the Bold, on Monday afternoon, October 23, 2006. During the tour and short cruise in Tampa Bay, Administrator Johnson will highlight EPA’s commitment to ocean and coastal protection, including monitoring of the condition of ocean/coastal waters, ocean education efforts to reduce Gulf of Mexico hypoxia, accomplishments of the National Estuary Program, and key actions to implement the U.S. Ocean Action Plan.

Access to the Bold is via York Street, which runs between the Tampa Port Authority and The Florida Aquarium off Channelside Drive. Free parking will be available at the end of York, just past the entrance to the Aquarium parking lot. The Bold will be docked in the adjacent Ybor Channel, at Berth 269.
