EPA IS ADDING NEW SITES TO NPL
EPA is adding 10 sites and is proposing to add one site to the National Priorities List (NPL). The primary purpose of the NPL is to guide EPA in determining which sites warrant further investigation. Currently there are a total of 63 proposed and 1,212 final sites on the NPL. The 10 added sites and locations are: American Brass, Headland, Ala.; DePue/New Jersey Zinc/Mobil Chem Corp., DePue, Ill.; Central Wood Preserving Co., Slaughter, La.; Ruston Foundry, Alexandria, La.; Armour Road, North Kansas City, Mo.; Computer Circuits, Hauppauge, N.Y.; Stanton Cleaners Area Ground Water Contamination, Great Neck, N.Y.; Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, Md.; Brandywine DRMO, Brandywine, Md.; and Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Virginia Beach, Va. The additional proposed site and location is Alameda Naval Air Station, Alameda, Calif. Public comments will be accepted for 60 days. The Federal Register Notice is expected to be published next week.
