The removal began April 12, 1999 and is taking place under the authority and direction of the Agency’s Emergency Response and Removal Branch (ERRB).
The removal will include:

The removal is expected to be completed by October 1999.
The Wayside Farms site is located in a residential/agricultural area. The EPA was contacted by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) for site assessment and possible removal action. Improperly dumped pesticide waste and containers utilized for aerial spray applications are located on the site. Contaminants of concern include toxaphene, endrin, and DDT.
