On Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk at a press conference to discuss Dallas's efforts to redevelop brownfields and to highlight the Brownfields '99 Conference being held in Dallas Dec. 6-8.
Brownfields are abandoned property that have real or perceived contamination from previous industrial use. The Clinton-Gore Administration has worked with communities like Dallas to clean and redevelop Brownfields and return them to productive use in communities across the nation.
