EPA Awards Over $160,000 to Pueblo of Jemez for Air Quality Monitoring

(Dallas, Texas – December 18, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $168,484 to the Pueblo of Jemez to establish a National Ambient Air Quality monitoring site, which will measure air pollutants like ozone and carbon monoxide. The pueblo will use the funds to participate in training; purchase equipment; participate in regional, state, and national tribal air meetings; and provide air quality information to the tribal community.
