EPA TO SHOWCASE SUPERFUND HAZARDOUS WASTE REMOVAL SITE IN ANAHEIM

SAN FRANCISCO The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will host an availability session October 26 at 9:30 a.m. at an abandoned plating facility in Anaheim where the EPA is in the process of removing tens of thousands of gallons of hazardous materials that were left behind when the facility burned down.
<blockquote>WHO: U.S. EPA Superfund Emergency Response Team</blockquote>
WHAT: Availability session that gives media an opportunity to view the start of a cleanup of approximately 50,000 gallons of plating solutions as well as cyanide, acids, PCBs, laboratory waste and contaminated soil. Monitor Plating burned in a fire and the EPA has been asked by the county to assist with the clean-up after the property owner disappeared.
