AMERICUS WATER WORKS IN AMERICUS, GEORGIA WINS 2002 SAFE DRINKING WATER ACT EXCELLENCE AWARD

On Thursday, August 22, 2002, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will award the Americus Water Works with the 2002 Safe Drinking Water Act Excellence Award for the Large Ground Water category. The goals of the Excellence Award are to recognize and award water systems that are demonstrating their commitment to compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act through outstanding operations and maintenance practices; to heighten overall public awareness of the contributions of public water supplies for ensuring adequate and safe drinking water; and to encourage public support for maintaining this exemplary status.
