PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD OPENS FOR IMATION XL AGREEMENT

Camarillo, Calif. -- A 30 day public comment period opens today on an innovative agreement that addresses air pollution emissions at Imation's Camarillo facility. The pact was forged between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, CalEPA, the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and ImationCorp.
A company typically needs to go through a time-consuming permit process before making a production change. This agreement would instead give Imation pre-approval for such changes as long as emissions stay within a specified cap. The goal is to protect air quality and public health, while providing the company the flexibility it needs to respond quickly as product demand fluctuates.
The agreement is part of EPA's Project XL. Project XL is an initiative designed to allow regulated entities to achieve better environmental results at less cost. For more information, visit EPA's website at www.epa.gov\projectxl. The deadline for comments is August 12. Comments can be sent to:
