Louisiana clean diesel projects get $295,000 from EPA

(Dallas, Texas – October 8, 2008) The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) will receive $295,320 from the Environmental Protection Agency to help reduce diesel emissions.
EPA Region 6 in Dallas announced a total of $1,378,160 in grants today for clean diesel projects in Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas under the State Clean Diesel Program. Grants from the State Clean Diesel Program are direct, non-competitive assistance awards designed to allow states to build programs that reduce diesel emissions from existing fleets. LDEQ will use its grant to work with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to retrofit several engines in its ferry fleet.
