EPA AWARDED 1998 SMITHSONIAN COMPUTERWORLD AWARD
On June 8, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was awarded the 1998 Computerworld Smithsonian Award in the Environment, Energy, and Agriculture Category. One of 52 finalists from six countries, the database was nominated by Mr. Lawrence J. Ellison, President and CEO of Oracle Corp. The Computerworld Smithsonian Awards honor ten categories of innovative applications of technology which benefit society. All nominations for the award become part of the Smithsonian Institution’s Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology Innovative at the National Museum of American History.
