EPA selects 4 new mambers in the Southeast for participation in the National Environmental Performance Track program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced today the acceptance of four new members from the southeast into the National Environmental Performance Track program. Nationally, 25 new members were selected. The program recognizes top environmental performers and encourages both public and private organizations that voluntarily go beyond compliance with environmental regulations, and publicly commit to specific environmental improvements over the next three years. The new Performance Track members in the Southeast are: Webasto Roof Systems, Inc., Lexington, Kentucky YH America, Inc., Versailles, Kentucky Eaton Hydraulics, Greenwood, South Carolina Delta Faucet Company of TN, Jackson, Tennessee Members in the Performance Track Program receive a range of incentives such as public recognition and low inspection priority. Facilities are also eligible for several kinds of administrative flexibility and streamlined administrative requirements that reduce costs and enable members to achieve better environmental results. In addition, members benefit from special services, including a learning network comprised of top environmental performers that has a mentoring program, tele-seminars, EPA roundtable discussions, and newsletters. Performance Track's member facilities represent both small businesses and large companies from the chemical, electronic, automotive, dry cleaning and pharmaceutical industries, among others. The list include additional facilities from companies already participating as well as from companies new to the program such as Yamaha Music Manufacturing and a public facility, NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center. Each new member has made environmental commitments to reduce water consumption, reduce emissions of particulate matter, increase recycling and reduce total solid waste.
