Oklahoma clean diesel projects get $295,000 from EPA

(Dallas, Texas – October 8, 2008) The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) will receive $295,320 from the Environmental Protection Agency to help reduce diesel emissions.

EPA Region 6 in Dallas announced a total of $1,378,160 in grants today for clean diesel projects in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas under the State Clean Diesel Program. Grants from the State Clean Diesel Program are direct, non-competitive assistance awards designed to allow states to build programs that reduce diesel emissions from existing fleets. ODEQ will use its grant to retrofit refuse haulers and school buses with diesel oxidation catalysts and diesel particulate filters.
