ANNOUNCEMENT IN OAKLAND COUNTY, MAY 3, 12:30 P.M.
CHICAGO (May 2, 2002) — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Christie Whitman will join local officials for a national announcement naming the recipients of new brownfields revolving loan fund pilot grants in Farmington Hills, Mich., Friday, May 3, 2002 at 12:30 p.m.

Where: “The Triangle,” at the intersection of Northwestern Highway and Orchard Lakes Rd., Farmington Hills
What: Announce new brownfields revolving loan fund pilot grant recipients. States, communities and economic development consortiums use the revolving loan funds to facilitate cleanup of industrial or commercial sites where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination. Since 1993, EPA has provided more than $200 million in brownfield grants.
