INVENTORY OF SOURCES OF DIOXIN REVISED
A scientific peer review is scheduled for June 3-4 for the revised draft, Inventory of Sources of Dioxin in the United States. Responding to public comments and those of the EPA’s Scientific Advisory Board regarding a previous draft, plus the availability of additional data, EPA has made a number of changes to a 1994 draft inventory. The latest changes have resulted in significant revision to the inventory structure and actual emission estimates. A specially formed panel of peer reviewers will conduct the review of the revised inventory at a public meeting June 3-4 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Ramada Plaza Hotel Old Town, 901 North Fairfax St., Alexandria, Va. The overall dioxin reassessment is expected to be completed later this year. Further information on the revised inventory is available on the Internet at: https://www.epa.gov/ncea/dioxin.htm.
