ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Bradley Campbell, EPA regional administrator for the mid-Atlantic states, will open the third annual workshop on wetlands protection at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at the Holiday Inn on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“Wetlands are among our nation’s most critical and productive natural resources. During the next few days, presenters will discuss key issues in protecting these valuable resources,” Campbell says.
More than 60 speakers and 325 participants will attend the three and a half-day workshop, running though November 3. This workshop is hosted by the Wetlands Regulatory Workgroup, a national coalition of federal, state and local regulators, industry, environmental organizations, and academics.
The goal of the conference is to foster partnerships to preserve wetlands by discussing emerging policy and other aspects of wetlands protection..
Wetlands are found in every state in the nation. They help improve water quality, reduce flood and storm damage, and provide important fish and wildlife habitat.
All workshop sessions are open to the public. Registration will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the event. For more information on registration and the workshop contact the Holiday Inn at 1-800-548-3030.
