EPA Employees Honored for Excellence

PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has presented awards for superior service to two employees.

Sonia Jimenez of the Tacony Creek section of Philadelphia was recognized for her outstanding leadership in creating and publishing the EPA Region III newsletter.  Jimenez is an office manager and has been an EPA employee for 14 years.

Cynthia Burrows of Olney was honored for helping develop an innovative employee recruitment program.  Burrows, an equal employment opportunity manager, has worked for 17 years at the EPA.

"These employees recognized deserve applause for their hard work.  Thanks to them, the mid-Atlantic Region is a cleaner, safer place to live," said W. Michael McCabe, EPA mid-Atlantic regional administrator.
