(Dallas, Texas – September 20, 2007) A total of 117 residential properties in Commerce, Oklahoma, have been successfully cleaned of contaminants associated with the Tar Creek Superfund site, the Environmental Protection Agency announced today.
The City of Commerce was able to complete the cleanups through a partnership between EPA and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. Many efforts were put forth to educate and encourage residents to have their properties sampled and remediated, which ultimately contributed to the success of the project.
