EPA Employee Honored with Distinguished Service Award

PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has honored Dr. Arthur L. Spingarn with the Glen Witmer Award, the most prestigious award in EPA’s mid-Atlantic region.
Spingarn, of Wynnewood, is a regional wetlands ecologist. He was recognized for his distinguished service in protecting the environment, his enthusiasm for environmental programs, resourcefulness and initiative and an ability to deal with people in a manner that fosters cooperation, understanding, and resolution of environmental problems.
"Arthur is a dedicated worker who is also active with inner city youth. He is in the forefront of environmental initiatives and his style of working with others fosters cooperation, understanding and resolution of environmental problems," said W. Michael McCabe, EPA’s mid-Atlantic regional administrator.
