EPA REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR SPEAKS AT STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYMPOSIUM TODAY

PHILADELPHIA - EPA Regional Administrator W. Michael McCabe will participate in a symposium at Villanova University bringing together local and state officials, water resource specialists, engineers, and city planners to discuss the successes, failures, and future of stormwater management.

Mr. McCabe will give the luncheon address today at noon in the Villanova Room, Connelly Center, on the campus.  He will discuss EPA’s new watershed approach and the proposed phase two of the Clean Water Act dealing with stormwater management and urban run-off.

The symposium is being held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 21 and 22 at Villanova. The symposium is hosted by the Pa. Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of  Watershed Conservation; the Pa. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Environmental Quality; and the Pa. State Association of Township Supervisors; and Villanova University.

Topics include:  institutional, financial, intergovernmental, and environmental issues faced by municipalities.  Innovative stormwater management techniques and ways to reduce non-point source pollution will be highlighted.  For directions or additional information about the conference please call the Villanova Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at 610-519-4960.
