EPA'S OFFICE OF PESTICIDE PROGRAMS TO HOLD MEETING WITH DIALOGUE C0MMITTEE

EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs will hold a meeting on Nov. 12-l3, with the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee in the Hyatt Regency Hotel Crystal City, 2799 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va. The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Nov. 12, and 8:30 a.m. -4:15 p.m. on Nov. 13. Topics on the agenda for the two-day meeting include: an overview of the Food Quality Protection Act; the Office of Pesticide Program's Planned Initiatives for Ecological Protection; Government Performance and Results Act with a focus on the Agency's program for reduced use/reduced risk pesticides; and pesticide labeling issues. The Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee, established earlier this year under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, was formed to foster communication and understanding between EPA's pesticide programs and participating organizations. The committee also provides the Agency with advice and guidance regarding regulatory, policy and implementation issues. Representation on the committee includes industry and trade associations, pesticide user and commodity groups, federal agencies and state government, consumer and environmental/public interest groups including the general public, academia, the public health community, and congressional staff.
