EPA/USDA TOLERANCE REASSESSMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING MAY 28-29 IN ARLINGTON, VA.
The first meeting of the newly established EPA/USDA Tolerance Reassessment Advisory Committee (TRAC) will be held May 28-29 at the Washington National Airport Hilton Hotel, 2399 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va.; phone: 703-418-6800. The TRAC was established to provide EPA and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) with guidance on implementing the 1996 Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA). The committee will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 29. All meetings are open to the public and both written and oral statements from observers are welcome. Oral statements presented during the committee meeting will be limited to two to three minutes and taken from one representative of an organization. Written statements can be filed before or after the meeting. In addition, EPA is holding a session to provide the committee with background information on FQPA requirements. This session will be held on Wednesday, May 27, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., in room 1126 of the Crystal Mall Building #2, 1921 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va. Limited public seating will be available during this session. On May 22, an agenda for the committee meeting and other background materials will be available on EPA’s Internet site at: https://www.epa.gov/pesticides/whatsnew.htm. The TRAC was established as a subcommittee under EPA’s National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology. It is currently scheduled to meet three more times over the next three months.
