(Kansas City, Kan., August 8, 2011) - EPA Region 7 will host a public meeting tomorrow night to discuss the results of its off-site environmental sampling of properties near the Carter Carburetor Site in St. Louis, Mo.
The public meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club, 2901 N. Grand Avenue, in St. Louis. Representatives from EPA Region 7 will discuss the results of surface soil, sediment and vapor intrusion air sampling that occurred in May 2011 at several properties adjacent to the Carter Carburetor Site.

The former carburetor manufacturing plant operated from the 1930s until it closed in 1984. EPA has been addressing hazardous waste conditions at the site under the EPA Superfund Removal Program.
